Accessibility statement
Zihronam is committed to making its memorial pages reachable and usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim for the site to meet Israeli Standard SI 5568 at level AA, which is based on WCAG 2.1.
Current status
We are working to improve accessibility continuously. The site has not yet had a formal audit by an accredited third party, so we do not claim full conformance.
What is already in place
- An accessibility menu on every page: larger text, dark and light high contrast, grayscale, highlighted links, a readable font, stopping animations and a large cursor.
- A "skip to main content" link for quick keyboard navigation.
- Full keyboard navigation with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference.
- Five languages, each with the correct reading direction.
Known limitations
- Photos and videos uploaded by families may have no text description or captions.
- Automatic translations of life stories and memories may contain errors. The original text is always available.
- The accessibility of embedded video players (YouTube, Vimeo) depends on their providers.
